Day 10 - REST DAY at Fort Yellowstone

[The Corps spent the day resting at Fort Yellowstone which is located at modern day Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone Park. Moss wrote letters, see below, which give some details of this day. I need to get copies of these letters--which are in the National Archives. When I do I will transcribe and post them in their entirety]

"The corps spent the rest of the day and all of the next at Fort Yellowstone. The new tires Moss had telegraphed for arrived from Helena and were installed immediately."
